Warwick International Group Limited acquired a controlling
interest in Esimit SpA, a speciality chemical distributor based
in Gorizia, Italy, on the 30th May 2001.
Esimit has excellent access to key markets in Italy
and ex-Yugoslavia, notably selling into the paints, inks and plastics
sectors. The company reported sales of Euros 23 million in 2000.
The acquisition complements and strengthens the group’s strong
position in the paints and coatings sector through its existing
distribution and marketing companies in France, Spain and Italy.
The former owner of the company, Mr Igor Simcic,
will continue in his role as Managing Director with greater potential
to develop the business as part of Warwick International Group’s
expanding European chemical distribution and marketing organisation.
